Arrive Paro – Thimphu
Arrival and transfer to Thimphu. Evening visit to the National Memorial Chorten. Overnight at hotel, Thimphu.
Thimphu Sightseeing & Forest Birding
Visit Buddha Dordenma and the Takin Preserve, followed by an afternoon birding walk in the forested hills above Thimphu, home to laughingthrushes and several raptor species. Overnight at hotel, Thimphu.
Thimphu – Phobjikha (Gangtey)
Drive via Wangdue Phodrang into the glacial Phobjikha Valley. Visit the Black-Necked Crane Information Centre and walk the Gangtey Nature Trail. Overnight at hotel, Phobjikha.
Phobjikha Valley Birding
A full day birding the wetlands and forest edges of Phobjikha with your naturalist guide, tracking black-necked cranes and resident raptors, plus a visit to Gangtey Monastery. Overnight at hotel, Phobjikha.
Phobjikha – Punakha
Drive to Punakha, birding along the Mo Chhu riverbanks for ibisbill and plumbeous water redstart, then visit Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang. Overnight at hotel, Punakha.
Punakha – Paro
Return to Paro, with a birding stop along the Paro Chhu river valley before visiting Rinpung Dzong. Overnight at hotel, Paro.
Departure
Transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward flight.
