The journey
Paro – Thimphu – Punakha – Wangdue – Paro — a day-by-day plan operated by our licensed guides, with overnight stops, drive times and highlights confirmed before you travel.
Arrive Paro – Thimphu
Group arrival at Paro International Airport and coach transfer to Thimphu. Evening group visit to the National Memorial Chorten and Changangkha Lhakhang. Overnight at hotel, Thimphu.
Thimphu sightseeing
Buddha Dordenma, the Takin Preserve, Zorig Chusum Institute of Traditional Arts & Crafts, and the evening flag-lowering ceremony at Tashichho Dzong. Overnight at hotel, Thimphu.
Thimphu – Punakha, via Dochula Pass
Group photo stop at Dochula Pass among its 108 chortens, then on to Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang, the Fertility Temple. Overnight at hotel, Punakha.
Punakha – Wangdue Phodrang
Visit Wangdue Phodrang Dzong and enjoy a group lunch at a local farmhouse, with an optional cultural performance for groups of 20+. Overnight at hotel, Punakha.
Punakha – Paro
Return to Paro via Tamchog Lhakhang and its historic iron chain bridge. Evening at leisure or optional group dinner with folk dance performance. Overnight at hotel, Paro.
Taktsang Monastery hike & departure
Group hike to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) Monastery for early arrivals; group transfer to Paro International Airport for later departures.
